Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what information Miami Ballstars Academy ("Ballstars," "we," "us") collects through this website, miamiballstars.com, how we use it, and who helps us handle it. The website is meant for the parents and guardians of the players in our program.
What we collect
When you register a player. The registration form asks a parent or legal guardian for:
- the player's name, date of birth, grade and school;
- the parents' names, your street address, city and zip code, your phone numbers and your email;
- up to two emergency contacts, with their relationship to the player and their phone numbers;
- answers to three health questions (regular medication, any disability or medical condition, and any physical condition that limits hard exercise), with details when you choose to give them;
- your choice about photos and video of your player, your agreement to the academy's policies, and your typed name as your signature.
With each registration we also record the date and time it was sent and the page it was sent from.
When you visit. Like any website, the services that host and protect this site receive basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, your browser type and the pages you open. This website does not use analytics, advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
How we use it
- To enroll your player, run practices and contact you about the program.
- To reach the right people quickly in an emergency and to keep your player safe at practice.
- To use photos and video of your player, only if you said yes on the form.
- To keep the records the program needs and to meet our legal obligations.
- To keep the website working and protect it from spam and abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Health information
The health answers help our coaches keep your player safe. They are kept only in the academy's private registration records, they are never included in the email alert described below, and we share them only with the coaching staff who need them, or with medical responders in an emergency.
Who helps us handle it
We share information only with the services that help us run this website and the registration system:
- Google (Google Sheets and Apps Script) stores each registration in the academy's private Google account.
- Web3Forms sends the academy a short email alert for each new registration, with the player's name, age, date of birth, grade and school, the parents' names, phone numbers, email and city, the first emergency contact, your photo and video choice, and the name of the person who signed. The alert never includes the health answers or your street address.
- hCaptcha checks that a registration comes from a person and not an automated program. It loads on the last step of the form and looks at information about your device and how you use the page to make that check. Its privacy policy and terms apply.
- Google Fonts provides the typefaces on this website, so your browser contacts Google's servers when a page loads.
- Railway hosts the website.
- Cloudflare delivers the website and protects it from attacks.
- Our website developer maintains this website and the registration system, and may see registrations while doing that work.
We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or to protect our legal rights.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies of its own. On the last step of the registration form, hCaptcha may set cookies or use similar technology to tell people from automated programs, and Cloudflare may set a cookie that protects the site from automated traffic. Both are there for security. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but the registration form may not work without them.
Because we do not track visitors across other websites, the site works the same way whether or not your browser sends a "Do Not Track" signal.
How long we keep it and how we protect it
We keep registration information only as long as we need it to run the program and keep our records, or as long as the law requires. Registrations are kept in a private account that only the people who help run the academy can open. No website or storage system is perfectly secure, so if a breach ever affects your information, we will tell you as the law requires.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your player's registration information, or change your answer about photos and video, at any time. Call us at 786-237-1258 or email [email protected]. We may keep some information when the law requires us to.
If you live in California or another state with its own privacy law, you may have more rights to know about, correct or delete your information. We honor those requests through the same phone number and email. We do not sell or share personal information as California law defines those terms.
Children
This website is meant for parents and guardians. The registration form asks about the player, who is a child, and it must be filled out by a parent or legal guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 sent us information without a parent, contact us and we will delete it.
Links to other websites
This website links to Instagram and Google Maps. Those websites have their own privacy policies, and this policy does not cover them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and update the date at the top.
